How to play Minesweeper

The board hides a number of mines. Tap a square to reveal it — if it's a mine, the game is over. If it's safe, it shows a number telling you how many mines are touching that square (counting all eight neighbours). A blank square means no mines are nearby, so the surrounding squares open up automatically.

Use those numbers to work out where the mines are, and mark them with flags: switch on Flag mode and tap (or right-click on a computer). Your very first tap is always safe. Clear every square that isn't a mine to win, and try to beat your best time for each difficulty — it's saved on your device.
